An object at rest tends to stay at rest unless acted upon by an outside force.
Being in a small group will challenge our tendencies to stay at rest. The outside force that acts upon us is the love of Jesus Christ. We imitate His love by actively caring for one another; by building not only friendships but meaningful relationships with one another; by ser
ving our brothers and sisters in Christ; and by reaching out into the community that surrounds us. Throughout these endeavors, we look to share the love, grace, and, hope that is the good news, that is Jesus Christ. Through these conversations, friendships, and relationships we look to fulfill Jesus Christ’s great commission — to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that Jesus Christ has commanded.
Matthew 28: 17-20
17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
